My Bar Mitzvah Project
My sister is very important to me and with her epilepsy and other health concerns, making sure she is safe and able to participate in different activities has always been challenging. As a family, it is difficult to find activities that we can do together. This past winter, we went to Telluride, Colorado, where I went skiing for the first time and my sister Bella, as part of an adaptive sports program, was able to ski for the first time, too! This was an amazing experience because we were both able to have a great time and even spend time on the slope together.
It is important to me to help promote inclusive activities where people with and without disabilities can participate and have fun together. For my Bar Mitzvah Project, I am raising money for Friendship Circle, an inclusive organization that helps to create lifelong friendships for individuals with disabilities. Our family has been involved with Friendship Circle for six years. It has been a wonderful experience for my sister, she has made great friends, and the organization plans regular activities for children and young adults with disabilities.

On October 22, 2023, I will be sponsoring and participating in an inclusive basketball game, where teens with and without disabilities can enjoy a great time together, play, laugh, have lunch, and feel good about making new connections.

You are all invited to join this event and support Friendship Circle.
